About the Event
Omnira Institute will host an information booth at the Black Friday Block Party & Liberation Market on Nov. 28th, on Linden Street between 28th and 30th streets in West Oakland. The event, sponsored by the Village Center, ‘centers Black business vendors in an intentional effort to participate in the Black Friday Boycott of corporate spending and direct funds to local entrepreneurs in the East Bay.’
Open from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m., Omnira members will sell their artists’ wares and make a musical offering to the ancestors through voice and drum.
The block party will also be the site of the first annual Oakland Street Mandala by Credo and a ‘Healing Garden’ of community healers. Credo’s Ramona Hill invites you to get down and get dirty with color to create the mandala.
All ages and abilities welcome. Massage, limpias, anyone? Walk-ons welcome!
