About the Event

We’re bringing the energy of the Oakland Black-Eyed Pea Festival to a new location! To ensure the best experience, we have collaborated with Farms to Grow Inc. We are moving the festivities to the Freedom Farmers Market at 4521 Telegraph Avenue in Oakland, CA, on Sept. 12, 2026, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. 


Given the reduced resources this year, rather than canceling the festival, we're choosing to ‘prune’ it by working closely with our loyal partners at Farms to Grow, Inc., the wonderful organization behind the Freedom Farmers Market.


Led by Elaine Smith, the Freedom Farmers Market is allowing us to take over its space with a mini version of the festival at 4521 Telegraph Ave. on Sept. 12, 2026.


With a new location and size, we continue our inspiring legacy of serving the community by nourishing the roots of African American culture through music, food, and art, including…
